COURSE INFORMATION
In order to develop a vision for the future, we first need to understand the past. Visual Communication encourages a critical engagement with historic and contemporary practice, relating social cultural and political contexts.
With and eye to meeting the demands of an ever changing, visual world, this course adopts a broad definition of illustration within the 21st Century, providing a dynamic environment for the devlopment of visual ideas,
authorial practice, experimentation within a multi faceted curriculum.
The course addresses the demand for visual communicators who
demonstrate a point of view, can contribute and inspire the industries they serve and the communities they belong to. The curriculum
is designed to offer a wide range of opportunities for employment, graphics, publishing,
books, childrens narrative, printmaking, moving image, theatre design,
animation and film. Opportunities are only limIted by a lack of curiosity and imagination, the rest is up to you.
The course reflects the diversity of contemporary practice allowing no
demarkation between subject disciplines whilst maintaining an individual
authorial practice specialist interest. Embracing traditional and experimental
processes the course offers a unique industry related placement to
complement personal pathways and negotiated study. Drawing in all its forms underpins all aspects of the course with a view to developing a strong
personal vision.
